Releasing answers sends a notification to your students that your marks and feedback are available.
Any feedback that you write will be available to the student immediately. Releasing the answers sends the student a notification and allows them to see the right and wrong marks for each question, as well as the model answers. Questions with automatic feedback and answers are available to the student immediately after submitting the work in non-assessed Lessons.
For Assessments such as check-ins and tests, the student can only see feedback and answers once you release them.
Note: Make sure that the Lesson is not hidden from students. Releasing the answers and releasing the whole Lesson are two different actions! Learn about hiding and releasing Lessons here.

What is visible to the student and when
The table below breaks down the differences between normal Lessons and Assessments, and what the students can see as their Lesson moves through different states of progress. When you look at an individual student's worksheet, keep in mind that what you see is not indicative of exactly what they see. You can see right and wrong marks on their worksheet before those answers are released to them.

Release answers to an individual student
Release feedback to an individual student at the bottom of their Lesson. You can also request resubmission from the student if you are unsatisfied with the submitted work.
You can also release answers individually via the Markbook. Click on the student's progress icon to view more information and controls related to that specific Lesson, and then click on the option to release answers.
Release to the whole Class
Release feedback and answers to the whole Class via the Markbook. Locate the Class controls menu that corresponds with the relevant Lesson and Class. Click the (...) button to reveal the Class controls menu and then select Release all answers. If you are not familiar with Class controls in the Markbook, learn more here.
Note: Releasing all answers will only affect submitted and collected student work. Answers will not be revealed on unsubmitted work (marked with an In progress icon or not opened at all).
Release to a select group of students
You can selectively release answers to a group of students within your Class by using the Markbook's filters. Learn more about using Class controls in combination with Markbook filters here.
