You can take your custom Stile resources with you when you change schools. Complete these steps before you leave your current school.
Before you begin: Confirm that your new school uses Stile, and check whether you are permitted to take your resources. Some schools retain intellectual property rights over teacher-created content. Check your employment agreement or ask your Head of Department if you are unsure.
Step 1: Decide what you want to take
Review your Subjects and identify the Sessions you want to keep. If you only want a few Sessions from a Subject, move them into a dedicated Unit folder so they are easy to copy together. If you want to take entire Subjects, that works too. Having a clear picture of what you need and where to find it will make the rest of the process faster.
Step 2: Duplicate your resources
Resources must be duplicated before transfer to ensure no student data is carried over. Duplicates contain only content: no students, co-teachers, and no student work.
To take entire Subjects: Duplicate each Subject you want to transfer. Duplicates will have "copy" appended to the Subject name so they are easy to identify.
To take only select Sessions or Unit folders: Create a new Subject named something like "Transfer" or "Keepers". Copy the Sessions you want to keep into this Subject. If you teach multiple topics (e.g. Physics and ICT), create a separate transfer Subject for each.
See Copy and paste Sessions across Subjects for steps on copying Sessions between Subjects.
Step 3: Set up your new school credentials
If your new school issues you a different email address, add it to your existing Stile account via your Profile settings page. Stile accounts support multiple email addresses, so you do not need to remove your current address.
If you are keeping the same email address, no changes are needed.
Contact your new Head of Department (likely your new school's Stile Admin) to be added to the school's Stile account. You will receive an invitation email, just as you did when you first joined Stile.
Step 4: Contact Stile Support
Once your new account is set up and your duplicate resources are ready, email the Support team from your current school email address. See the bottom of this page for contact details. Include:
Your new school's name;
Your new email address;
Links to the Subjects you want transferred, or a screenshot of their names on your homepage.
Stile Support will move your Subjects into the new school account and add your new account as a teacher. The transfer cannot happen until your new school account is active, so make sure that is in place first.
Note: If your new credentials won't be ready before you leave your current school, ask your new Head of Department if you can be invited under your current Stile account or a personal email address in the interim.
