What is Clever SSO?
Clever SSO (Single Sign-On) allows your staff and students to use their Clever accounts to access Stile. This means there's one less password for everyone to manage! Ask your school's IT/Clever Admin to set up Clever SSO with the steps here. Once enabled, you can select the Sign in with Clever option at stileapp.com.
What is Clever Rostering?
Your school or district can set up Rostering, which automatically creates Stile Subjects for you and organizes them with Classes and enrolled students. Subjects are based on Clever Courses, and Classes are based on Clever Sections. This means that your Stile Subjects will be named according to their Course titles in Clever.
How do I organize my Clever Rostered Subjects?
Your Stile Subjects will be named according to the Course title in Clever. You can keep this name if it suits you, or you can rename the Subject to make it more descriptive for you and your students, such as 7th Grade Science - Mr McDichael.
Every Class (or Clever Section) in a rostered Subject will be called Class A by default. Rename your Classes to be more descriptive, such as 3rd Period, 5th Period, etc. Class names are not visible to students, so this is just for your reference.
What happens if I have an existing Stile account and I log in with Clever?
You will be logged into your existing Stile account if your Clever email matches your Stile email. If you know that your Clever and Stile logins do not match, you can log in to Stile directly with your Stile email and add your Clever email in your Profile Settings.
If you logged in through Clever and found yourself in a new Stile account, send an email to help@stileeducation.com and include the email addresses of both accounts. We can merge them together for you!
I got an error message when logging in to Stile through Clever. What do I do?
If you try to log in from Clever and get an error, try going to stileapp.com in your web browswer instead, and then click the Sign in with Clever button. Contact your Clever admin if you receive an error on a Clever page (bright blue Clever branding), and contact the Stile Support team at help@stileeducation.com if you receive an error on a Stile page (bright green Stile branding) or if you're not sure. If you are a teacher and you are prompted to enter a Class code, it means you have created a new account through the Clever login. The Support team can merge it with your existing Stile account.
I already made Subjects in Stile. Can they be rostered with Clever?
No. Subjects must be created by Clever rostering in order to be rostered. You can copy custom resources from your Stile-made Subjects and paste them into your rostered Subjects if you would like to use them with your students. Here's a quick tutorial on how to copy and paste across Subjects.
Student work is tied to the Subject in which it was completed, and so it will remain in the un-rostered Subject. You can either continue working in the un-rostered Subject until there's a natural time to transition (such as the start of the school year or term/quarter/semester); or archive the un-rostered Subject and direct your students to continue working in the new, rostered Subject.
Some of my courses are missing, what should I do?
If you do not see all of your courses or sections rostered in to Stile, contact your Clever admin first to ensure they were correctly rostered. Contact the Stile Support team at help@stileeducation.com if rostering is correct and you still can't find your Subjects. It's possible that you were removed or the Subject was archived or deleted by mistake! The Support team can restore them for you.
