Collecting work is akin to saying "pencils down" in the classroom.
Your student is no longer able to work on a Session or un-submit their work after you collect it. This can be used effectively at the end of an exam session, or if a Session is still un-submitted past its due date.
What is visible to the student and when
The table below breaks down the differences between Assessed and Non-assessed sessions, and what the students can see after you collect their work. When you look at an individual student's worksheet, keep in mind that what you see is not indicative of exactly what they see. You can see right and wrong marks on their worksheet before those answers are released to them. For a full breakdown of what is visible and when, click here.

Collect work from an individual student
You can collect a student's worksheet via the Markbook. Click on the student's progress icon to view more information and controls related to that specific Session, and then click on the option to collect it. If the student has not yet started the Session, click their empty cell and mark them Absent. Then click the Absent icon to reveal the option to collect the work. This will create a blank worksheet for the student.
You can also collect a worksheet from an individual student at the bottom of their Session.
Collect work from the whole Class
Collect work from the whole Class via the Markbook. Locate the Class controls menu that corresponds with the relevant Session and Class. Click the (...) button to open the menu and then select Collect all unfinished work. This will collect everyone's work in that Class, including those students who have not yet started. If you are not familiar with Class controls in the Markbook, learn more here.
Collect work from a specific group of students
You can selectively collect work from a group of students within your Class by using the Markbook's filters. Learn more about using Class controls in combination with Markbook filters here.
