Lesson recap videos
Each Lesson in Stile comes equipped with a short recap video that covers the most important information. If there's anything in the video that you don't feel confident about, then that's a great indicator of where you need to revise. If you understand everything in the video, move on to the next one!
These videos are available through your web browser or via the Stile X mobile app. Scan the QR code or type in the URL that you see in your workbook next to the Lesson's title. If you have the mobile app, you'll find the entire collection of videos for the unit below the Quiz section.
Revision notes
There are no model answers for the questions in your book because most of the questions rely on you trusting your own understanding of the content. Take notes that will help you revise. These workbooks aren't done for marks, but they will help you earn more marks on the unit tests and quizzes.
Do what helps you to understand the content. Have the Lesson open in Stile while you work in Stile X - this isn't a "closed book" exercise! Doodle and write notes in the margins, colour-code keywords with highlighters, circle a whole paragraph if you don't get it, and take time to fill in the mindful colouring pages. Whatever helps you to remember and understand the content is the right way to use Stile X.
Practice test
Every workbook has a practice test at the end. The questions are similar to what's on the actual end of unit test, but they are not the same. Do what you can in the practice test before looking at the model answers and be honest with yourself. You don't gain anything by cheating on the practice test, and it won't help you where it matters in the real test. Gauge your understanding on each question, and use that as a guide for further revision.
Expert study tips
The Expert study tips in Stile X are very general tips that can be applied to any topic you are studying. Some of these tips may already be familiar to you, while others are brand new. Have a look at each one that you come across and see if it's something that might help you, whether that's just in science or in your other topics as well.
Checkpoints
The end of unit test is going to challenge your understanding of the Learning goals that are stated in each Lesson, so ticking these boxes as you feel confident is a great way to visualise what you've nailed down and what you have left to do. Again, be honest with yourself! Don't cross off a Learning goal until you're sure you've got it. These sections in Stile X aren't for marks, they're for you.
Gamify revision with the glossary and flashcards
The Stile X workbook includes a blank glossary. This is where you can write down notes, definitions, and other important tidbits that help you remember the keywords in each unit. It's okay to cross out and adjust what you write here because this is your glossary. You can check your work using the Glossary lesson for the unit in Stile.
For a more interactive approach, use the flashcards and pop quizzes in the Stile X mobile app. The flashcards match the terms given in your Stile lessons and the quizzes give you rapid fire multiple choice questions relating to those terms. You can do and redo the quizzes as many times as you want, until you can remember the terms you're revising.
