Manage student work in just a few clicks by using the Class controls in the Markbook.
The Markbook offers bulk actions for your Lessons. These actions allow you to control whole Classes or select groups of students within a Class. Watch the video or continue reading below for a more in-depth tutorial.
There are three bulk actions that can be performed for each Lesson:
- Collect all unfinished work is like saying "pencils down!" Students can no longer make changes to their work. You could use this at the end of an exam or to collect overdue activities.
- Release all feedback and answers reveals model answers, marks, and feedback to students. Students can no longer take it back or make changes. This is great to use after you've reviewed everyone's worksheets at the end of an activity.
- Request resubmission from all allows your students to continue working. They will see your comments, and they will not see the answers. This is a great way to signal to your students that they need to try again. You can also use this if a student accidentally submits an activity early.
You can find the Class controls menu where the Class row and the Lesson column intersect. Classes and Folders can appear closed to reduce the Markbook's load time. Click on the Class name if you cannot see any students. Click on the Folder's title if you cannot see its Lessons.
Click the (...) button to open the Class controls menu for that Lesson. Select the action you want to apply to the students in that specific Class. The whole column of icons will begin to process and then update with the appropriate new icon.
You can also apply Markbook filters to manage a selection of students within the Class. Learn more about Markbook filters here.
