Class discussion

Class discussion is a chat room built into every Session.

Updated yesterday

Class discussion can allow students to collaborate outside of Class and quietly discuss topics during Class. Each Session has its own class discussion, which is disabled by default and can only be enabled by the teacher. When discussion is enabled, all students in the Subject can participate as long as the Session is released to their Class.

Students can post comments or upload images and videos to share. Teachers can highlight insightful comments and hide inappropriate or off-topic comments.

Enable Class discussion

Click into the Session you would like to enable and go to Teach mode. Click the Class discussion tab on the right hand side of the screen, or click the speech bubble tab if you already have a menu open. Click the Open the discussion now button to enable Class discussion. You can close the class discussion at any time by clicking the discussion off button. Turning off discussion does not delete the chat history.

Upload content

Students and teachers can share images, GIFs, and more by using the Attach button, marked with a paperclip. Enlarge and play uploaded content by clicking on it.

Teachers can direct the class discussion through Moderation. Highlight useful contributions or delete inappropriate comments. Deleted comments are greyed out in teacher view and hidden completely from students.
